Institutional Infrastructure
for Event Contracts
Rothera’s mission is to operate the premier CFTC-regulated event contract market providing trading and clearing services to FCMs and market makers.

Our Ethos

An Ethos of Responsibility

We believe the standards set today will form the foundation for the future of event contract markets.

Maintain Market Integrity

Promote ecosystem quality through strong protections against fraud and manipulation.

Put Compliance First

List only event contracts that comply with the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and Core Principles.

Preserve Reputation

Evaluate listings with an eye toward market integrity and the reputations of Rothera and the firms on our venue.

Focus on Longevity

Operate under U.S. legal and federal regulatory jurisdiction, backed by leading capital markets firms committed to the long-term development of the market.

Our Approach

Why Rothera?

Our approach is designed to meet the expectations of established financial institutions.

Alignment

We don’t compete with FCMs for end-customer relationships or operate an in-house market maker, minimizing channel and trading conflicts.

Collaboration

We develop products and services alongside FCMs and market makers, within a market structure designed to support ecosystem-wide quality.

Discipline

We take a selective approach to listings, applying sound and well-informed financial markets judgment to a rapidly evolving category.

Experience & Innovation

Our team brings extensive experience designing listed products and electronic trading solutions at exchanges, clearinghouses, prime brokers, and beyond.

Reputation & Relationships

Decades of work across regulated capital markets have built longstanding relationships with ISVs, infrastructure providers and buy-side and sell-side firms.
